London, United Kingdom: PIDG has today announced that its project development solution, InfraCo,  has been awarded ISO 37001 certification following a detailed assessment by the British Standards Institution (BSI). ISO 37001 is the gold standard for anti-bribery management and helps organisations to prevent, detect, and address bribery risks through leadership commitment, risk assessment, and operational controls.

PIDG Head of Business Integrity, Samantha Meen, said, “Serving markets across Africa, South and Southeast Asia, InfraCo has demonstrated its commitment to preventing and reducing the risk of bribery across its portfolio. The ISO 37001: Anti-Bribery Management Systems certification demonstrates compliance with international anti-bribery laws, regulations and best practice, improving stakeholder confidence and safeguarding our reputation. Crucially, the certification recognises that InfraCo is promoting a culture of integrity, transparency and ethical conduct and we take great pride in this commitment.”

ISO 37001 was published by the International Organization for Standardisation (ISO), which is an independent, non-governmental international organisation which develops and publishes International Standards. It is based in Geneva and is made up of the national standards bodies from 162 member countries (including the UK). The standard addresses both direct and indirect bribery, including bribery involving employees, management, business associates, and third parties across public and private sectors, including projects.

PIDG Global General Counsel, Alex Traube-Childs, said, “At PIDG, we are committed to working ethically and transparently.  InfraCo’s certification complements the work we are doing to embed high standards of business integrity across our wider portfolio.”

The Business Integrity team considers the suitability of partners, co-investors, joint venture partners, and other third-party counterparties to ensure that these partners share the same values as PIDG and that they are committed to working to the highest ethical and legal standards. Following our investment, PIDG works closely with our investee companies to embed high standards of anti-bribery management through regular in-person and online training sessions.

Certification is for three years with annual surveillance visits.
